It is literally praise of the Khalsa, is a short poem by GURU Cobind SINGH inserted at the end oftlic thirtythree Savaiyyc in the Dasam Granlh. The language is Braj Bhasa, i.e. medieval Hindi of the MathuraAgra region. The setting is provided by an incident which occurred during a Divali feast Guru Gobind Singh gave at ANANDPUR. On that occasion the high caste Pandit Kcsho was inivited to eat after the Khalsa had feasted. Kcsho fell slighted for, as a Brahman, lieshould have taken precedence over all others. Guru Gobind Singh uttered this hymn exalting the Khalsa: I have won my battles through the favour of my SIKHS; Through their favour have I been able to dispense largcssc. Through their favour my troubles have receded, And through their favour my prosperity expanded. It is through their favour that I acquired knowledge. Through their favour I subdued my enemies, Through their favour am I exalted, There are, else, millions of such humble persons as me. Let my body, my mind, my head, my wealth, and all that is mine Be dedicated to their service. This is the name given to the tenth Bani in the second holy scriptures of the Sikhs called the Dasam Granth. This text spans from page 1355 to page 1356 of the 1478 pages of this holy book of the Sikhs. (Original text is over 1428 pages)

ਤਦਪ ਨ ਉਪਮਾ ਬਰਨਤ ਸਧ ॥ | thadhap n oupama baranath sudhh | then they are truly deserving |
ਯਾ ਮੈ ਰੰਚ ਨ ਮਿਥਿਆ ਭਾਖੀ ॥ | ya mai ranch n mithhia bhakhee | I have not told you even a little lie |
ਪਾਰਬਰਹਮ ਗਰ ਨਾਨਕ ਸਾਖੀ ॥ | parabreham gur naanak sakhee | Perfect saint Guru Nanak is my witness, |
ਰੋਮ ਰੋਮ ਜੇ ਰਸਨਾ ਪਾਂਊ ॥ | rom rom jae rasana panoo | If all my pores could speak, |
ਤਦਪ ਖ਼ਾਲਸਾ ਜਸ ਤਹਿ ਗਾਊਂ ॥ | thadhap khhalasa jas thehi gaoon | with all, I would sing Khalsa's praise. |

ਓਤ ਪੋਤਿ ਸਾਗਰ ਬੂੰਦੇਰੋ ॥ | outh poth sagar boondhaero | In the wild sea, they provide shelter |
ਖ਼ਾਲਸਾ ਅਕਾਲ ਪਰਖ ਕੀ ਫ਼ੌਜ ॥ | khhalasa akal purakh kee aj | Khalsa is God's army |

ਜਬ ਇਹ ਗਹੈ ਬਿਪਰਨ ਕੀ ਰੀਤ ॥ | jab eih gehai biparan kee reeth | When they follow the ways of others, |
ਮੈਂ ਨ ਕਰੋਂ ਇਨ ਕੀ ਪਰਤੀਤ ॥ | main n karon ein kee pratheeth | I will withdraw my assistance from them. |
